Many organizations of farmers agitating against the three laws of the government regarding farming are camping on the borders of Delhi. Farmer leaders of a total of 35 organizations had arrived for talks with the government. These leaders range from former military to doctor. There are many leaders who have engaged in social activities by joining the organization at a very young age.
Of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU-Revolutionary) Surjeet Singh Phool (75) is the most influential leader in the peasant movement. The Punjab government had filed a case against them in 2009 under UAPA. They were accused of having links with the Maoists. He was severely questioned in Amritsar jail. He has no connection with any political party.
Of west Bengal Hannah Mollah (74) is the leader of All India Kisan Sabha and a member of CPM. He joined CPM at the age of 16 and became a member of the party’s Politburo. Baugh Singh Mansa (68) is the President of the Indian Farmers Union. He has been struggling with the issue of farmers for the last 42 years. He is also associated with Punjab Students Union.
Joginder Singh (75) is the leader of BKU (acquisition). He left the army job and started farming. In 2002, BKU (acquisition) was established. He is among those leaders whom Home Minister Amit Shah requested to shift the movement to Burari. Revolutionary Farmers Union of Malwa Region Dr. Darshan Pal (70) had left the medical service and started farming on his ancestral 15 acres of land.
Jhamuriyat Kisan Sabha Kulwant Singh Sandhu (65) is a leader of the Left and a member of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Marxist Party of India. Of BKU (Ekta Dakonda) Buta Singh Burj Gill (66) working for farmers since 1984 and laid siege to Punjab Raj Bhavan for several days.
Kirti Kisan Union Nirbhay Singh Doodhe (70) CPI (ML) is also a member of New Democracy. He came into the limelight in the 1972 agitation after two students died in police firing in Moga. Total Hind Kisan Sabha Baldev Singh Nihalgarh (64) is a member of the State Executive of the CPI.
Punjab Kisan Union Ruldu Singh Mansa (68) are influential in Malwa and associated with CPI (ML) Liberation. All India Kisan Sabha Major Singh Punnawal (68) are associated with CPM. Inderjeet Singh Kot Budha (50) is associated with the Kisan Sangharsh Committee (Punjab Kot Budha).

Apart from Indian Farmers Association Satnam Singh Behru (81), of the Bharatiya Kisan Manch Buta Singh Shadipur (59) Shiromani is a former member of the Akali Dal. Of Dwaba Kisan Samiti Jangbir Singh Tanda (45), of Dwaba Kisan Sangharsh Committee Mukesh Chandra (65), of the Sugarcane Conflict Committee Sukhpal Singh Duffer (61), Azad Kisan Committee of Dwaba Harpal Singh (60), of BKU (value) Baldev Singh Mianpur (69) belongs to Congress.
Save the farmers Kripal Singh Nathuwala (52), BKU (Lakhowal) Parminder Singh Pal Majra (65), CPM leader of Kulhind Kisan Federation Prem Singh Bhangu, CPM leader of Kulhind Kisan Federation (Sangrur) Kiranjeet Singh Sekhon, Of BKU (Chadouni) associated with Aam Aadmi Party Gurnam Singh Channuni (60), of the National Farmer-Labor Federation of Madhya Pradesh Shivkumar Kakka JP has been associated with the movement. He was also involved in talks with the government.
