The number of new cases of coronavirus infection in the country is increasing at a rapid pace every day. As of 10:30 pm Saturday, 1,51,973 new cases of infection were reported in the country. More than 1.25 lakh new cases have been registered in the country for the fourth consecutive day. At the same time, 808 people lost their lives due to infection. These figures were released by the health departments of 31 states and union territories.
Maharashtra recorded the highest number of 55,411 new cases in the country. According to the Maharashtra Health Department, 309 people died due to the epidemic in the state on Saturday. The number of infected in the state has increased to 33,43,951 while 57,638 people have died so far. In the state, 5,36,682 people are undergoing treatment for coronavirus infection. 9,864 new cases were registered in Pune and 9,327 in Mumbai. On the other hand, new cases were reported most in Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Rajasthan.
After Maharashtra, 14,098 in Chhattisgarh in the country, 12,787 in Uttar Pradesh, 7,897 in Delhi, 6,955 in Karnataka, 6,194 in Kerala, 5,989 in Tamil Nadu, 5,911 in Gujarat, 4,986 in Madhya Pradesh, 4,401 in Rajasthan, 4,043 in West Bengal, Bihar. 3,469, 3,309 in Andhra Pradesh, 3,254 in Punjab, 2,937 in Haryana, 2,909 in Telangana, 1,925 in Jharkhand, 1,374 in Odisha, 1,233 in Uttarakhand, 1,235 in Jammu and Kashmir, 941 in Himachal Pradesh, 540 in Goa, 405 in Assam, Chandigarh. 398 new cases were registered in Puducherry, 272 in Puducherry, 103 in Dadar Nagar Haveli, 41 in Tripura, 39 in Meghalaya, 25 in Mizoram, 12 in Nagaland, and 10 in Lakshadweep.
The total death toll rose to 1604 on Saturday after six more people died during the last 24 hours due to Coronavirus infection in Bihar. At the same time, the total number of people infected so far increased to 2,79,473 with 3469 new cases of infection reported in the state.
According to information received from the Health Department, during the last 24 hours in Bihar, three patients died in Patna, two in Gaya, and one in Bhojpur district due to coronavirus infection. With this, the total death toll rose to 1,604 on Saturday.
According to the department, 3469 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported in the state from 4 pm on Friday evening to 4 pm on Saturday, out of which 1431 cases were highest in the state capital Patna.
Other major districts most affected by the infection in the state are 310 in Gaya, 183 in Muzaffarpur, 97 in Bhagalpur, 93 in Aurangabad, 87 in Purnia, 80 in Begusarai, 77 in Jehanabad, Bhojpur 74, 70 in Lakhisarai, 62 in Saran, Siwan. 57 cases were reported in Arwal, Vaishali, and Munger, 51-51, and 50-50 cases in Darbhanga and Saharsa during the last 24 hours.
