Farmers Protest Today Live News Updates: Finally, the central government allowed the farmers coming to Delhi to protest against the agricultural laws. On Friday, thousands of farmers coming from Punjab and Haryana entered the Tikari border in Delhi after a fierce clash with security personnel.
But the farmers deposited on the Singhu border could not enter the city till the evening where they had a fierce clash with the police in the morning. A protestor told the news agency ‘ANI’ that we have 6 months of ration-water. We will return only by repealing the black agriculture law. This law is against the farmers.
Meanwhile, on Friday, the Delhi Police allowed the farmers who were protesting peacefully to come to Delhi. All the farmers have been asked to gather near Nirankari Ground in north-west Delhi. Delhi Police spokesperson Ish Singhal confirmed this. This decision of the police was praised by Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.
It is worth noting that earlier, the Delhi Police had demanded the Kejriwal government to make the 9 stadium a temporary jail in order to capture and detain the protesting farmers coming to Delhi via Haryana. However, the Kejriwal government flatly refused to give any such approval. Delhi Home Minister Satyendra Jain justified the demand of the farmers, saying that the Center should obey the farmers and putting them in jail is not the solution to the problem.
