Metro service has started from Monday (7 September), about five and a half months after the lockdown in the country. People from the cities of Delhi, Noida, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kochi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad will now be able to travel in the metro again. And Kolkata will start the Metro service from September 8. Metro service across the country was stopped on 25 March due to Covid-19.
The metro service has started in the country’s capital Delhi after 169 days. It will be launched in the phase. The starting of the metro is done from the yellow line in the current phase in Delhi. The Yellow Line connects Samaypur Badli to the station from Huda City Center. To avail of the service of the metro, passengers have to agree to many conditions in the journey.

Who will not get an entry in Delhi Metro-
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC-DMRC) was preparing for this for the last 7 days. The sanitization of the coach was done on Sunday (6 September). Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC-DMRC) has said that no person will be given entry without a mask in the metro stations.
If someone forgot to bring a mask, one can get the mask by paying money at the metro station. In addition, if someone is ill or has a few symptoms of infection, he will not get to go to the metro. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC-DMRC) has appealed people to travel only when necessary and to have less interaction during the journey.
Have to take care –
- Travel with less stuff.
- Passenger hand sanitizer will keep 30ml of a pocket-size bottle.
- Passengers should shift office time to avoid congestion at peak hours.
- Try to leave for office before peak hours and come back.
Hand sanitization machines with auto thermal have been arranged at a total of 45 stations in Delhi.
And the rest of the metro station has auto sanitizer dispensers. In addition, thermal screening will be done manually.
