The NDA’s ally, the Shiromani Akali Dal and the Modi government has been tightened over the Farmers Bill 2020. The Shiromani Akali Dal has split from the NDA. Party chief Sukhbir Singh Badal announced that his party was separating from the NDA. Cabinet Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal has already resigned in the Modi government regarding the Farmers Bill. Sukhbir Badal said that ‘we will not be a part of the NDA which has brought these ordinances. It has been unanimously decided that the Shiromani Akali Dal is no longer part of the NDA.
Earlier on Friday, Akali Dal activists led by Sukhbir blocked the long vise area on the Malout-Delhi National Highway for three hours. Badal was accompanied by Harsimrat Kaur, wife and MP from Bathinda. The Badal couple reached the protest site by driving around eight kilometers of tractor. During this time, he had said, for the farmers of Punjab, the Akali Dal can come forward and lead or even look at them from behind… There is no issue of arrogance with us.
Our job is to fight for the rights of farmers. The SAD Chief further said that on October 1, farmers of our party will start from March Takht Damdama Sahib, Akal Takht and Takht Keshgarh Sahib as farmers march towards Chandigarh.
Let us know that 9 days after Harsimat Kaur Badal’s cabinet resignation, the Akali Dal has also withdrawn from the NDA. On Friday, there was a statewide arrest in protest against the farmer’s bill in Punjab. Earlier too Sukhbir Singh Badal had said that the Akali Dal is ready to pay any price for the benefit of the farmers. Please tell that the Akali Dal has been an old ally of the BJP. The Akali Dal also supported the BJP in the 13-day Atal Bihari Vajpayee government. Akali Dal chief Prakash Singh Badal has been one of the founding members of the NDA alliance.
