Sunny Deol started his career with the film ‘Betaab’. After this film, he worked in many hit films. One such film of his career was ‘Ghatak’. Amrish Puri and Meenakshi Sheshadri were seen alongside Sunny Deol in Ghatak. The film released in the year 1996 was a super hit. There were many such scenes in the film which make anyone emotional. Sunny Deol also remembered a similar scene.
Sunny Deol was asked about shooting similar scenes. In an interview with ‘The Lallantop’, Sunny was asked the question, ‘Ghatak is your best film. Do you remember any scene of that how you shot? Sunny Deol replies, ‘Many shots were repeated again and again. But Mary and Rajkumar Santoshi have had such chemistry. Many scenes were very difficult to shoot.
Sunny Deol says, ‘There was a scene in which I tell my father that you have cancer. Amrish Puri ji was with me. I told the director sahib that you go and tell Amrish ji that I do not know what I am going to do. Because it was a very emotional scene. I don’t know what I felt at that time. Then I imbibed that character in me so much that I really became Kashi.
The relationship of both was spoiled: Sunny further explains, ‘When we started shooting the scene, it became such that even after it was over, everyone present on the set kept crying. On many occasions, there were such scenes that Rajkumar Santoshi and my bonding were clearly visible. He used to listen to me and listen to me. Sunny Deol’s film ‘Ghatak’ was also produced by Rajkumar Santoshi. The duo has also given films like Ghayal. However, later on, the relationship between the two also soured.
Sunny Deol never said anything wrong about Rajkumar Santoshi. Once Dharmendra’s displeasure had definitely come to the fore. Dharmendra had even said that no one was ready to produce Rajkumar’s injured. That’s why we have created directors like Rajkumar Santoshi.
